Altered children’s books as a healing path in the art journaling world

Altered children’s books as a healing path in the art journaling world

Art journaling has lots of forms and names: visual journal, collage journal, altered book,  junk journal, and more.

One of the practices that I love the most is altered children’s books.

Creating inside a loved children’s book with the seven elements of visual journaling is the most satisfying activity.

I begin by picking up the right book that touches my heart and calls me to engage with it.

I look at the images in the book and I read the story and then I ask myself a few questions:

  • Do I love the colors and images in this book?
  • Can I see myself covering up some of the images and “inserting” new images from other sources to create a new story?
  • Do I connect with the text of this book?
  • Can I invent another “hero” that will change the story?

Altering a children’s book is a work of healing inner parts that need our attention.

We create a new hero that symbolizes some of our past challenges and we give our hero special powers that will help her overcome any problems.

In this picture, you can see how I altered a children’s encyclopedia and change the name of the story to be a name “tells” a new powerful story.

“Lila and the world of ideas” is the new name of my altered book and I’m going to connect the ideas of the book with my new hero – Lila, a child that has special powers of time traveling and learning about herself through philosophical ideas.

I’m really looking forward to continuing this journey in my book and sharing it with you!!

The power of color mantra!

The power of color mantra!

Each and every one of us is born with the built-in ability to change our lives and

connect to the energies of health, love, the joy of life, and creativity.

All that is required of us is to believe that we can do this in a simple and creative way.

In this course, we will learn the tool of a color capsule that will connect us to the power of fulfillment of the primary colors and their ability to change our lives.

A color mantra is one of the processes of the Color Archetypes method.

This is a tool that connects color, image, and the creation of a healing mantra.

You can repeat this process and create as many color mantras as you want.

In this course, you will also create a beautiful art therapy journal, designed especially for this process.

What is a mantra?

A mantra is actually a type of prayer, a precise sentence that describes the situation we want to reach – as if it has already happened and is being fulfilled in the present.

Our unconscious does not know how to distinguish between imagination and reality so when we create a mantra and reinforce it by visual expression and continue to reinforce it through daily practice, reality begins to align accordingly.

In this course, we will connect to the power of our personal color palette in the context of healing a certain aspect of our life.

We will create a color mantra that will express our healing.

Color Archetypes- Creating our childhood color maps

Color Archetypes- Creating our childhood color maps

Color Archetypes- Creating our childhood color map!

We started this course with a live event in April 16th.

You can access this for free when you register to the site.

In this event, I shared with you my new method

Color Archetypes

Color archetypes is a spiritual-artistic method to identify and understand the source of energies available to us from the day we were born – core energy, connection energy, and spiritual energy.

These three energies, inherent parts of us, navigate and shape our lives. Understanding them will help us live better, happier, and more fulfilling lives.

When we know and recognize these energies, we can learn to balance them and achieve an energetic state of tranquility, creativity, and happiness. This state touches our higher spirit, or self-archetype.

In this course we will learn to map the energies inside us through the color map, working with archetypes, shamanic meditations, and creating a visual journal.

We will learn about the childhood color energy map, a fascinating process that we can use over and over to heal childhood wounds and transition toward the life that we want to create for ourselves.

Materials that I used in the Live event

  • Watercolor paper
  • Watercolors
  • White/black pen
  • Glue/scissors
  • Acrylics/posca markers
  •  Images from old books/magazines
  • Any material that you have at home

You can still sign up for the Color Archetype course

This is a recorded course that will be yours to keep forever!

Color Archetypes

Color Archetypes

Color Archetype and the theory of soul energy

There are many theories that link our complex soul to theories of color.

Our aura colors, chakra colors, Native American color wheel and more are all an attempt to express the richness and complexity of our soul.

Our soul is like a beautiful diamond which is made up of several components, these components can be called energies and any such energy can be seen in a particular color so that we can understand how these energies work together to allow our soul to be expressed in the world.

The three energies that make up our soul are the core energy, the other energy, and the spiritual energy.

In Color Archetypes, I chose to use the language of colors to describe the energies that make up our souls.

The three basic colors – red, blue, yellow – make up all the colors in the universe, and respectively – the three basic energies of the soul can create an infinity of possibilities in our lives.

To express the energies of the soul – I chose to attach one basic color to each energy. The uniqueness of the “Color Archetypes” method compared to other methods of color healing is the ability of each one to arrange for himself the color map according to his intuitive and personal connection to the primary colors.

Creating our first color map

We are going to create a personal color map that is based on our current situation in life.

But before we start, I want to explain, In short, my theory about energies and color.

As you all know and feel, our world is composed of energies..

Feelings are energies

Actions are energies.

Connections with others have energies.

Through shamanic studies,  I discovered that there are three main energy modes

The core energy mode

 The other energy mode

The spiritual energy mode

Every day we move from one mode of energy to the others- lots of times every day.

We feel a special kind of energy when we are with our family or friends, interacting, talking..this is the other energy mode.

And then we are on our own, thinking, creating, listening to music, etc.. this is the core energy.

Finally, when we meditate or walk in nature, we can access the spiritual energy, which is a different light energy.

Some people feel it when they are connecting with art or literature, some when praying to god…but everyone has a spiritual side, even if you are not religious.

You probably ask- what is the connection between energies and colors? Good question!

Our subconscious translates energies to colors.

Our subconscious feels with colors..

What is especially beautiful about colors is that they have energy in them, each color affects us, but we are not quite sure how; we feel something when we see colors.

So now we are going to create our first map of color/energies.
