Bring Back The Light- The Be’eri Survivors SoulPages Exhibition

Bring Back The Light- The Be’eri Survivors SoulPages Exhibition

    Bring back the Light

Group Exhibition / Women of Kibbutz Be’eri

This exhibition is the work of a group of women who survived the massacre at Kibbutz Be’eri, who created for nine months in a visual diary using the “Pages of the Soul” method, initiated and guided by Rakefet Hadar.

In this creative method, deep emotional processes can be expressed and processed, through color, image and word.

The group of women created within personal journals, which enabled them to touch their inner world, which underwent such a severe upheaval, in safe conditions and with supportive accompaniment.

The visual journal, as a secret-keeping archetype, gave them a place to which they cast the most intimate contents and thus freed them from the need to carry on their hearts all that they had gone through, from the October 7th.

Into the SoulPages they unpacked experiences, sensations, emotions, images, and in the process strengthened their souls with dreams, hopes, and hope.

In preparation for the exhibition, each artist selected several pages from her personal journal, which she wanted to share with the audience. The artists also agreed to reveal the original journals themselves and allow viewers to view them.

It is a moving tribute that plucks at the heartstrings of us all, and in these troubling days is full of hope for healing, unity and peace.

Curators: Yael Margalit and Rakefet Hadar

    Photographer:Venezian- Heftig Studio

    We are coming to NY!!

The exhibition will be in Manhattan from July 24- August 7

    On the Exhibition

The Be’eri women were introduced to the visual journal through their friends Anat Tavori and Orit Swirsky, who established a SoulPages Visual Journaling group in Be’eri in 2018.

The original group consisted of seven women, three of whom were murdered on Black Saturday: Orit Swirsky, Maayana Hershkovitz and Mazi Bahar.

Fornine  months, the women of Be’eri worked through their visual journals to express their longing, the fear that never lets go, the severe pain of loosing their loved ones and the desire for small moments of forgetfulness, of devotion to materials and working together.

Together they created a group, a community of women that became a support for each other, a group in which one can both speak and be silent, one can cry, one can also rejoice, and above all – one can play for a moment with colors, images, lines and discover surprising things.

Their SoulPages are built on seven simple elements: intent, the magic of chance, background, color, image, line and text.

Next to the art works you will find words that each wrote about her work, words that describe her feelings.

The artists participating in the exhibition are:

Aliza Gad, Anat Tavori, Batya Segev,  Ella Greenstein, Hamutal Hargil, Hana Brin, Lea Kapitanov, Mayana Hershkovitz, Mazi Bachar , Michal Cohen, Orit Svirsky, Perach Pilo, Pnina Avni, Rivka Bira Shoshke Steinhardt, Talia Dvory, Tsipi Zorea, Vered Gold, Yochi Alon

    What is the Visual Journal?

10 years ago I discovered the visual journal and it changed my life, brought joy into it and connected me to a fountain of creativity that was buried inside waiting to be discovered!
I developed the SoulPages method in order to enable as many people as possible to recognize the power of creation, to connect us to passion, joy of life and healing powers.
My method consists of seven simple elements: intent, the magic of chance, background, images, color, line, and text.

Over the past year, SoulPages facilitators and I have reached hundreds of evacuated women and survivors of the October 7th massacre and brought them the healing inherent in the SoulPages processes through the “Bring back the Light” project. This exhibition opens a window into the inner world of the survivors of the massacre and reveals the strength and hope in the work of creation during war time.

Small Gift of Hope- Full Worksheet Free download!!

Hi, my name is Rakefet Hadar. I’m an artist, art therapist and founder of the  Soulpages® method of visual journaling

SoulPages® is a simple, self care, visual journaling method that is built on seven elements and the main idea is that we are connecting with our inner child , our inner artist and our inner visionary. All these parts reside in our unconscious so we learn how to connect with them via the SP process. If you want to read more about the SoulPages® process you can find abundant of knowledge either in my two books or in my site.

The main element is Intention and in this lesson we will work with it to create small talismans that will be like gifts from our unconscious.

The name of today’s lesson is– Small Gifts of hope– In this lesson we will create small talisman that can be used later in our visual journals.

If you want to get the full worksheet, with all the instructions, pls, fill out the form below, and you will get it in the mail soon!!

    July personal musings

    July personal musings

I know I disappeared in the last few months and only popped in to let you know about classes or training, but I missed talking and sharing what’s in my heart.

So I decided to try a new practice-Personal newsletter that you will get only once a month and will be like a personal blog.

I hope you will enjoy it!!

A memory that makes me feel good

I remember a situation when I took a vacation at home because I had to stay with my daughter when everyone flew abroad, there were two things I did in the creative space that really pleased and filled me.

I made collage stasches, in the background, I put music that I love, I cut out images from old books and created boxes of collages.

A box of people, a box of animals, a box of nature, can you Imagine how cool it was?

There was also a box of places and a box of texts.

I arranged tons of materials I have by categories. Then when I wanted to create everything was laid out in front of me.

Another thing that happened on that home vacation was that I studied ink-making techniques from all kinds of ingredients.

I really researched it thoroughly. I opened a gaming lab. I took apart markers and allowed myself to go deeper and have fun without a specific purpose.

The feeling I felt was one of wonderful freedom, I just enjoyed creating just for myself, without an explicit purpose, just being with myself for a moment, with the colors and without wanting to create something that can be shown on Facebook.

Tomorrow I’m flying to Canada and the United States for a whole month, to visit family, spend some time with my husband and also create a diary. I intend to share a lot about my trip, and give recommendations about stores and materials, in the meantime, it took me a long time to pack my art supplies and then I remembered that last year I created a fun Video about my art supplies.

Something I didn’t tell you about my second book

Publishing this book was a difficult inner journey for me.

The first book was successful; I received strong responses and compliments. There was no book about the visual Journal in Israel, and even abroad, it was considered a very innovative and special book.

But compared to the first book, which was very accessible and simple, the second book is really about healing, it brings up my idea – how you can heal by working with color. It is not as readable and simple as the first book; it is more profound and touches even painful places.

When I created it, I felt that even though it was not an easy book for me to write, it was very important that I write it and not give up on myself. The writing process was constantly accompanied by this voice that feared that it would not be understood.

And I know that voice inside me; it’s a voice that fears that if I don’t present everything in a very simple way, then people won’t understand. This is a voice from my childhood that felt misunderstood a lot.

On the other hand, I know that healing takes time; it’s a long process to devote yourself to. This book is a profound process in which I can meet with more painful places and make an understanding of my life, who am I? What do I need to be happy?

Even in the branding process I did for the book, Benny Garmi insisted with me that it belongs to the category of art therapy, and it was hard for me to agree to it at first. But eventually, I gave in and agreed to let go of control.

It was important for me to share with you how much the process of creating a book is an emotional journey that continues even after the book is released to the world.

I hope you enjoyed this newsletter/blog

I enjoyed sharing it with you!

    See you next month!

    Color Archetypes is finally released!!

    Color Archetypes is finally released!!

    It’s Finally here!

I’m over the moon that after two intense years of creating, the “Color Archetype” book is finally on Amazon!!

The “birth” of my new book

Exactly four years ago, my first book “Layers of Meaning” came out!

The book was a great success both in Israel and abroad… and brought to many women the magic of the seven elements of the visual journal.

The elements are: intention, ,magical coincidence, background, image, color, text and line. Over the past years I realized how deep the elements are and how much they influence our lives. Out of the seven elements it turned out that color, image and text are the three elements that really allow the magic to happen.

Following the investigation and the prolonged work in the my journal, the annual course was born – the Color Archetypes, which led an in-depth process of working on colors, archetypes and intuitive writing.

Over 200 women have participated in the Color Archetypes course in recent years and allowed a new method to be born.

Thanks to these special women and thanks to the power of the archetypal work in color combination – my second book was born – Color Archetypes

The book was published this week on Amazon and is waiting to reach everyone who loves color and wants to explore the archetypes that accompany our lives through colors.

But above all, the real quality of the book lies in the works of art you can see in it – created by Rakefet Hadar and her students and the inspiration to start your own art based on the processes that are suggested on the book.

These works of art enable frequencies of healing and inner connection to a deep creation.

This is a spectacular art book that combines inspiration for nine development and creation lessons using the “SoulPages” method while focusing on the journey we went through during our childhood and the archetypes that influence our lives.

Why do you absolutely need this book?

Discover the healing properties of your inner color wheel.

The act of making art is a therapeutic process that can help you communicate and visualize your own unique path towards happiness. However, just as there are many roads to the same destination, no one can tell you what your roadmap to happiness looks like. You have to paint it first.

A companion to Rakefet Hadar’s Layers of Meaning method, Color Archetypes is a one-of-a-kind art therapy guide and workbook for both patients and therapists. Using its fresh and colorful prompts, you too can create your own visual “roadmap” at any given moment while understanding the emotions associated with different colors.

In this book, you will find:

    • Eexercises in transformation and healing – and how to use self-expression as a driving force for change.
    • An in-depth look into the world of color archetypes – explanations and lessons on harnessing the healing powers of colors while working on your own visual journal.
    • The ability to understand and control your emotions – use colors as a medium to communicate and unravel your thoughts and desires.
    • A great way to handle anxiety, stress, self-esteem issues, trauma, and self-doubt.
Enter the illustrious world of color archetypes and paint your way to a better, happier, and more fulfilling life.
