Would you like to spend an evening at your table, cutting out beautiful images and making a journal page that says something about you?

You love creating in your journal. But a recorded lesson asks for an hour in front of a screen, and you don’t always have one. Sometimes all you have is one evening, a clear table and a cup of tea.
These kits were made for those evenings. Everything is written down: what to prepare, what to do at each step, and which questions to ask yourself along the way. The kit lies open beside you like a small book, and you go at your own pace.

Beautiful images, ready to cut out

The images in each kit were chosen in the spirit of old books and classic collage: Alice and fairy-tale creatures in Wonderland, families in sepia in Family & Roots, botanical illustrations and mushrooms in Nature & Seasons, lighthouses and whales in Sea & Journey, and eyes and women with flowers blooming from their heads in Women & Faces. You can print them again and again for your journal.

More about this kit
A few of the opening questions:
  • Who in my family would I like to invite onto the page today?
  • Which smell, sound or taste takes me straight back home?
The first lesson: “The one who was kind to me”
Every childhood has someone it felt good to be near. A grandmother who made you tea, an aunt who asked how you really were, a kind neighbor, a friend’s mother. Sometimes it was someone you met only once. These people stay with us, and we can return to them whenever we need to.
From the journal questions: “When I think of her, which moment comes to me first?”
The second lesson: “The family ensemble”
Inside each of us lives a whole cast of people: a grandfather’s hands, a mother’s laugh, one aunt’s stubbornness. In this lesson you will build your family on a single page, three generations of figures, and discover what came to you from each one.
From the journal questions: “Which quality did I inherit from the generations before me that I’m glad to have?”

A few of the opening questions:
  • What would I do today if I had no limits at all?
  • Which world would I step into if I had a tiny door like Alice’s?
The first lesson: “The imaginary creature”
A watercolor blot can turn into a fish, a bird, or a creature that doesn’t have a name yet. These creatures come from the imagination and from the heart, and they have something to say. In this lesson you’ll find a creature hiding in a blot, give it a home, and ask it why it came.
From the journal questions: “Who are you? What is your name?”
The second lesson: “The dream map”
You can dream during the day, too. Journaling, meditation, a wandering mind and daydreaming all open a door to the inner world. In this lesson you’ll free-write on four questions, pick words from what you wrote and connect them with paths, like a map of a land you haven’t visited yet.
From the journal questions: “What nourishes my soul today?”

A few of the opening questions:
  • Where would I sail today if I had a little boat?
  • What would I take with me, and what would I leave on the shore?
The first lesson: “The island of imperfection”
In the middle of the sea, an island is waiting for you. It’s called the island of imperfection, a place where it’s okay to be a work in progress, with your cracks and with everything that isn’t finished yet. In this lesson you’ll draw your island with your non-dominant hand, write inside it, and let water melt the words. The words don’t disappear. They soften and make room for something new.
From the journal questions: “What is life like on the island of imperfection?”
The second lesson: “The crystal cave”
At the end of the road there is a cave, and in it, crystals in every color. Each crystal is a strength you gathered along the way, a resource you created out of nothing. In this lesson you’ll enter the cave in your imagination, receive one word from each crystal, and paint the crystals on a black background, where their colors light up.
From the journal questions: “What abundance do I have when I’m connected to myself?”
Extra materials for this kit:
  • A black permanent marker
  • Three water-soluble markers
  • Black paper, or a page painted black

50 pages, 36 of them image pages.

A few of the opening questions:
  • What season of life am I in right now?
  • What is asking to bloom in me now?
The first lesson: “Prints from nature”
One leaf, one flower and a little paint are enough to begin. In this lesson you won’t make a planned page. You’ll play for half an hour with leaves and flowers, on separate sheets, and see what comes out. And sometimes the loveliest surprise is the paper underneath, the one that was only supposed to protect the table.
From the journal questions: “What in me wanted to be expressed through these materials?”
The second lesson: “The flower of the day”
One flower can be a map of your day. A small struggle sits at its center, and the water decides where it will flow. In this lesson you won’t interpret. You’ll look at what the magic of chance created in the flower, and ask what it is telling you.
From the journal questions: “Where did the black go, and which petal was touched the most?”
Extra materials for this kit:
  • Fresh leaves and flowers
  • A white marker
  • White acrylic and colored acrylics
  • Watercolor paper and black paper

Women & Faces

Inside: Eyes in every color, women whose heads are in bloom, flowers, figures and animals.
The lessons: “The inner goddess,” a mandala with a woman’s portrait and flowers blooming from her head. “A dialogue of inner figures,” two inner figures meet on the page, with a bridge between them.
38 pages, 24 of them image pages.

More about this kit
A few of the opening questions:
  • Which woman in me is asking for a place on the page today?
  • What do I admire in another woman that might live in me too?
The first lesson: “The inner goddess”
There is a goddess in each of us. Her head isn’t crowned. It is a living, blooming garden, full of flowers that grow straight out of her thoughts. In this lesson you’ll create a round mandala of your inner goddess, from a portrait, color and flowers.
From the journal questions: “What did the goddess whisper to me?”
The second lesson: “A dialogue of inner figures”
There are many voices in us, like small personalities. Sometimes we believe them, as if they were who we are. But a voice is only a voice, and each one brings a gift. In this lesson you’ll invite two inner figures to talk about one small conflict, and build a bridge between them on the page.
From the journal questions: “Hi, would you introduce yourself? What do you look like, and how old are you?”
Extra materials for this kit:
  • Scraps of colorful fabric, if you have them
  • Acrylic markers and a white gel pen

And also: scans from old books

I’ve been collecting vintage books for years. It’s a wild collection, truly the story of a life: years of searching in different countries, in secondhand shops and at book fairs.
From this collection I scanned full pages and made six themed vintage kits, $19 each, plus one big kit, From Old Books: 60 scans drawn from all six themes, for $32.

How you receive your kit

  • Each kit is an A4 PDF that also prints well on US Letter paper.
  • As soon as you pay, you’ll get an email with your download link. Your kit is also saved in your account on the site, under Downloads.
  • Print the image pages on ordinary printer paper. No special paper is needed. I suggest printing each page twice, so you still have a full copy after you cut.
